The first draft of my entry, "The Garden of Forking Pasts", is finished now. A finalised version will be posted soon.

And here it is, in all its finalised glory, "The Garden of Forking Pasts", weighing in at 2993 words (excluding disclaimers and other extraneous material).

Beginning: Fry suffers from a mysterious disease
Middle: Someone gets... AMNESIA!
End: Fry decides to return to the way things were

A bit more depressing than I originally planned. Warning: alternate universe character death.

This is really, really beautiful, Chris - you nail down the emotional cores of characters so well.  Another wonderful combination of emotions on display here - the darkness is properly leavened with humor.  Excellent stuff.

Extremely impressive. As usual, your writing and characterisation shines here, particuarly your descriptions and Fry's emotions. But I have to give extra special kudos to...

Spoiler (hover to show)

Overall, a fantastic read. I can see why you took the top award  Smiley

Excellent stuff.  No wonder you won!  A great little story that I'd personally like to see fleshed out into something longer.  Kudos!
