Here's my newest Animation

Flash 3 - Pilot

Instead of making Maggie the Game I decided to make a series of Flash animations using its concept.

It features three zones from Sonic, Bridge (Sonic the Hedgehog 8 bit), Scrap Brain (8 bit graphics, 16 bit music), Tidal Tempest (Sonic CD).

This is also the first to feature Lisa.

Say, how do you make text boxes on this software?

Its just a standard rectangle with Text placed in it.

the use of the color is fabulous… the same in its style of drawing… it is an excellent work!

Heh. Thanks CCD. I'll be honest. I dont draw from scratch like most other people do. Both of these are framegrabs which I've had to modify.

The first one is a scene in Lisa's First Word, only I modified it to include Maggie, which is basically Lisa just flipped horizontally.

The second is actually 5 framegrabs. The Background, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the Microphone. Bart was easy since I didnt have to make any changes to him. Lisa was slightly harder since I had to change the dress a little. Maggie was the hardest since I had to find a decent framegrab where Lisa is in a singing pose and alter the dress. The background was relativly easy since there was a scene in Wettest Stories Ever Told where they were on Stage and I just filled in what I needed coz the Simpsons were standing there.

Really, its much easier to use what you can get and modify it rather than drawing from fresh I see.

As always they were both drawn in Macromedia Flash.

Here's just a random pic I drew on paper, then coloured using Flash.

I drew it on some random piece of paper which explains the text on the page, it was a college assignment.

Thats not bad at all man You got the techneque and all the math right. She has the correct number of hair spikes, number of eyelashes, she doesnt have 3 ears etc...

Rather than going over how to improve it, I think you should carry on, I'm pretty sure you know what your doing. All I recomend is that you draw a few of your frame grabs to get your hands used to the movement and spacing of drawing somthing thats show standard. Look at the frame grab, and draw it from your desk, rubbing out mistakes. You got what it takes to improve far with your art, not to mention the brilliant flash colouring!

I think its a really nice picture. Maggie as her usual 'mature' self I think out of the two, I prefered the sketch. The pacifier is a very nice touch

Heh, when I tend to draw Maggie in the future, I play with it a bit, maybe give her 9 spikes or even 7 (as you can see the sketch as 8 spikes but the Flash has 9). And I usually give her 4 eyelashes. I dunno why I just do and for some reason I didnt in this one.

Thats not a bad idea actually. I've drawn Grabpics over and over again 175 times with Maggie and 150 with Lisa. Its about time I started to get some practice in with my own hand drawing rather than the mouse.

For some reason the proportions dont really seem right to me in the sketch, I dunno. Its the head that really gets to me, so in Flash I spent about half an hour trying to get it right. And the hands, well I could'nt figure out how they went so I cheated and placed them behind her back.

its animation in MX is fabulous… .  it really handles the flash… with great style  .....    Its art is fabulous ..... is all scrool and mainly the colors !    wow… would please me that it sends to my email a copy….

Hey, this is actually very good, even for the collage pic!
My only nitpicks is that Maggie looks squint-eyed, and her thumb is too short comparing to other fingers.

Well, I wanted to say that at NHC, but *incomprehensible mumbling*
The KTS logo doesn't make Bart look better. And if you wanted to somehow protect the pic, why not covering only the background or leaving a small "brand" on the character?
Aside from that, great grab.
