I'm having a boatload of trouble downloading some attachments from inside of messages (stored in the forum system, not external links).  I finally installed Firefox yesterday, but the problems exist in both MSIE 6 and 'Fox.

If I try to click on the sketch version of D.B.'s calendar picture (from this message), the browsers insist that I either just download it or let it start Paint Shop Pro to view it -- every method I can think of trying to force the browsers to handle it have failed.  However, if I choose either of the download options, I get an empty file.

Then, if I try to dredge it up directly from the attachment folder I get

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I know this is an awful lot of information, but I figure the longer this message is, the easier the problem will be to fix. Smiley

Do you see the attachments in the messages, or just the links?

[edit]
Forgot to add, the attachment links are designed to force a download. Don't ask me why. Smiley

The Scots (originally Irish, but by now Scotch) were at this time inhabiting Ireland, having driven the Irish (Picts) out of Scotland; while the Picts (originally Scots) were now Irish (living in brackets) and vice versa. It is essential to keep these distinctions clearly in mind (and verce visa).

The idea of the links is that you simply click on them and get the "save as"  dialog automatically. The forum sends out headers designed to do that. It also sends out filename to save as.

I'm not sure I understand why attachments don't show up in messages for you. They do for me. Hmm. very peculiar...
