And yes, Julie Kavner is up for Voice Acting. Smiley

Additionally, "Yokel Chords," "24 Minutes," and Bender's Big Score all nabbed a nomination.

If there's any justice in the world she ought to win that one easily enough.   And it's nice to see Bender's Big Score at least get a nomination.

Indeed. She was really good in the film. IMO, of course...  Marge!

Hooray!  Julie K quite deserves her nom - she's the best thing in that entire film.  I was also pleased with all of the noms for Ratatouille, and for the Robot Chicken Star Wars special.

I concur with all this.  Julie K should get an Oscar nom, if they had a Best Actor/Actress Voice Performace Category.  And they will someday because, since animated films aren't considered "real" movies and therefore must have their own category, the actors and actresses who perform in them can't be "real" performers.  Don't get me started.

Yes!

Oh, and congrats to The Simpsons for their four nods. :p

Julie does deserve her nomination, though.  She almost made me cry with her delivery.  I loved the acting in Ratatouille too much to say that I think she deserves the Annie hands down, but if she takes it home I won't be disappointed, either.

The winners have been announced.

The good news: Bender's Big Score, "Yokel Chords," and "24 Minutes" all won their respective categories. Smiley

The bad news: Julie didn't. Sad

"Bender's Big Score" certainly deserved it. Shame about Kavner, she did a very good job.

I was at the show on Friday. When Futurama won, Matt Groening and David Cohen walked on stage holding WGA picket signs and joked about the strike in their acceptance speech.

Freakin' morons.  Julie Kavner is the best actor in that cast.  Yeesh, once again, my faith in the business is shaken.

Lucky sunnuva gun....

I'm thrilled that BBS won, but I'm disappointed that Julie lost to Ian Holms; not that he was bad... I just thought Julie was better.
