I'm a llama!

Shocked Well, since I've been thinking bout this for awhile (too long I daresay) with season 20 coming soon. I was wondering about the possible wrap up of the series.

I would really like the end to be a Special Episode with lots of conclusions to the mysteries of Springfield, such as the explaination of where Springfield is, a take on the future scenario and a clip show showing whether Bart and Lisa ever resolve their sibling rivalry or even had children.  Roll Eyes I would like to see whether Lisa ever got to College and them being aged as they should be. (Oh yes, I will be very sad if the last episode shows!) Sad

Speaking of which, how would you like the final episode to end?
PS: I've read on the net... That after all those yrs, the Simpsons writers STILL haven't though of an 'ending' episode for OFF series... What? they had all those years to think of an ending.  Huh

I'd be quite happy with an episode that returns to the status quo like most of the others -- what's important to me is how they do it. I'd like the last episode (and more, if possible), to be one of those quiet, domestic, subtly satirical plots that's more suited to the style of a play than an action movie. No guest stars as themselves, mischaracterisation for laughs, cheap resolutions or raccoons and butter.

I'd like a dramatic ending, but only if they can pull it off. No cheap tears just for the heck of it. Or just a normal, good episode, like Beb said, though I would like for it to feel... I dunno, final. Like the last ever strip of Calvin & Hobbes: "Let's go exploring."

I'm not sure a future episode, in itself, would be final enough as a finale, considering they've already done quite a few.

I'm not surprised that you agree.

I agree with Chris: What I really want to have is closure on the canon.

Ultimately, I'd like to see how the kids turned out and not have it be a ha-ha point-and-laugh thing: I want something sweet and dramatic and a tad sentimental The way the Simpsons Movie was apparently going to end, until they went WE NEED SOMETHING FUNNY HERE AT THIS THAR END.

I'd like to see Bart on his way to success; I want to see Lisa blossoming into the smart woman we all know she'd become; and I'd love to see who Maggie turned into.  I want closure on the side characters; did Selma ever find the right guy?  how did the octuplets turn out?  What happened with Lenny and or Carl?

So yeah, basically I want something worthy of the show's legacy.
