This was yet another one of those "it could have been worse" episodes. I got some chuckles out of a few things; the opening sequence was about perfect (the revelation about Mr. Burns and just how things are returning to status quo from the movie could not have been better).
Because I'm shameless, I also got a laugh out of Lionel Ritchie - a celeb cameo that makes some sort of plot sense is always worth a nod - Colbert's was neat, too, and I got a kick out of the too-knowing jabs at Second City. The plot had some fairly bright twists - the Homer/Marge pathos was touching, and harkened back to the olden days. Homer
And, whattya know? A real reason for "everything is back to normal."
Still, overall, another middling episode, with good use of the strength of the Marge/Homer bond without testing it. Overall, though, it's just worth a
C. Nothing too offensive, and I deem it entirely watchable, but no IT, especially after the movie's brilliance.
