This episode wasn't too bad. The WNBA thing went quickly, and Homer wasn't too much of a jerk. His goofy prayers gave me a chuckle, though. It was nice seeing several bit characters again (Dr. Nick, Helen). The ending...hysterical. 4/5. Revieweth this episode and go in the peace of Colonel Sanders.  |

yeah it actually did suck....mainly cause, i thought at least, there weren't enough funny scenes. The only real one i gave a chuckle to was "Let us thank god for this rain, Now god, turn it into wine" *lightning strikes homer*, and also carl and his worshipping of i think it was lenny's father's trophy of a deer's head, "O man i must be wasted" :uhdrop:

I've been optimistic and have been satisfied with many efforts this season. But there is one thing that I won't forgive- when an episode is forgettable. One of the great things about the Simpsons (IMO) is the way you can always say "'Member when...", and each episode is as memorable and unique as the one before. But this show didn't have that impact. It's almost as bad as when a show out-and-out blows.
This episode suffered greatly (IMO) from the fact that it was penned by two outside 'guest' writers. The jokes were few and far in between, which isn't a problem in dramatic episodes, as long as you have character moments, tension building, etc. to fill up the gaps. Many gags fell flat.
Verdict:
It could've been so much more.

i understand u completely, i mean "remember when..." ideas and thoughts really make an episode more enjoyable. Who could forget Homer and Mindy and there little get together at that chinese restaurant. Today at school, me and a friend were like "remember those fortune cookies lol, ChineseGuy#1: We're out of new love predictions. ChineseGuy#2: ahhh just open up the...stick with your wife barrel."
Or things like these. An episode with gags that don't really go anywhere or make u laugh very much, will soon be forgotten and that's what makes an episode rather dull, boring, etc. :uhdrop:
