Did Chavez have it taken off the air briefly?

Yes. Apparently he considered it evil. I reckon he just wanted more space for his six hour weekend program where he rambles on about how great life is under his rule.

The Scots (originally Irish, but by now Scotch) were at this time inhabiting Ireland, having driven the Irish (Picts) out of Scotland; while the Picts (originally Scots) were now Irish (living in brackets) and vice versa. It is essential to keep these distinctions clearly in mind (and verce visa).

From what I've gathered from CNN and a couple of other articles, it was a combination of pressure from viewers and governmental action.

There's also still no word yet on whether or not the government's going to punish Televen in some way, and it's been suggested that they might have to pay a fine of some amount.

The bad thing is that all the word I've heard about the show's demise comes from a midia that's a hundred per cent untrustworthy. Some dumped crap all over the government, talking about censorship, making obvious links to RCTV and all; others have said the government merely intended to move the show to a more appropriate slot, since it's not a show for children. The cynical bastard in me says that considering the show is not for children is such a wise and smart move that it doesn't belong to a government. But the other cynical bastards are more willing to add non-existing details to the story than I am willing to consider them, so in short, I don't know...
