Homer: Marge? Since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass me the syrup? Marge: Dear, please pass your father the syrup, Lisa. Lisa: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat product. Bart: You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup homeboy? Homer: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning. Marge: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart. Homer: Bart, thank your mother for pointing that out. Marge: Homer, you're not not-talking to me and secondly I heard what you said. Homer: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case. Bart: Uhhh, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to. Homer: Bart, go to your room.

"I can absolutely guarantee that this film will far exceed the wildest expectations of every Simpsons fan. Start lining up at the theater now, preferably in costume." -- Al Jean, April 06
"Well, it's called The Simpsons Movie and it's coming out in America in July and that's all I can tell you. To be honest, I'm kind of curious to see how it will go over. The Simpsons is not a feature film format. I had a great time doing it, it was a nice challenge, but you just don't know if the public will take to it." -- Nancy Cartwright, 23rd April 06

Well, neither is "South Park," but they pulled that one off.

I think that the Simpsons movie will do pretty well with the public.

More news; http://www.animationmagazine.net/article.php?article_id=5687During the annual Comic-Con Simpsons panel, creator/exec producer Matt Groening and fellow exec producers James L. Brooks and Al Jean thrilled the crowd with some first glimpses at the eagerly awaited The Simpsons Movie. Groening also announced that next year’s panel will feature clips from the 13 all-new episodes of Futurama, which Comedy Central will air sometime in 2008. When asked about the process of expanding The Simpsons from a half-hour to 90 minutes, Brooks quipped, “It’s been rough. We worked at it for a long time and then found out that Snakes on a Plane was doing the same story.” Groening then introduced a couple of black & white animatics from the movie. In the first piece, the good people of Springfield have formed an angry mob and are after Homer for some reason. When the mob manages to bust into the Simpsons home, Maggie has to fend off sea captain Horatio McCallister’s pet monkey with a broken milk bottle. In the second clip, Homer is driving a dog sled across a snowy terrain. His incessant whipping is avenged when he stops to set up camp and the dogs start ripping him to shreds. As the dogs are running away, Homer sighs and whines, “Oh, why does everything I whip leave me?”

I will make it to next year's Comic-Con if it kills me. I'm hesitant to place judgement on the movie based on the preview clips (cheers for those, AwwLilMaggie ), but I have to admit I'm not completely happy with them. The sledding one in particular just feels like another projection of jerkass Homer. ...Although Maggie Vs. Mr. Teeny made me laugh.

Movies, books, T.V., music - they're all just entertainment, not guidebooks for damning yourself!" - Nny I draw too, dammit!

Well, neither is "South Park," but they pulled that one off.
That wasn't what I was focusing on. I just wanted to clear up the contrast between the attitudes of Nancy Cartwright and that of Mr. Modest.
