Apologies if this has been posted before: as an amateur gamer, this is ridiculously painful to watch.

The story is genius gamer friend #1 decided to build these near-impossible Super Mario World levels to challenge the gaming prowess of genius gamer friend #2.  This is the first of a series of videos depicting poor friend #2 trying (repeatedly) to beat said levels.  And thus Asshole Mario was born.

ETA: This is different from the "Hardest Mario" that was posted earlier in the thread, but it's generally the same idea... sans commentary.

I think, in all the hullabaloo about Youtube and shiny things, we've forgotten what this thread needs.

War bonds and stamps! Minstrel shows! Those evil Japs! Hitler! Because everything is better with the above.

From "The Hunchback of Notre Dame":

the most dramatic scene in all Disney films

No matter how many times I watch this film, it's just... wow... How did this get a PG rating?

Dramatic, yes.

But for what reasons, that's open to discussion, of course...!

Oh man, 'Hellfire'!  I coulda sworn I linked that to you guys, it must've been a different site I'm thinking of.

I still haven't seen Hunchback in its entirety, but what I have seen (including 'Hellfire') has kind of depressed me.  Hunchback had the potential to be probably the most mature and dramatic animated flick Disney ever did (with a hella nifty score), but they watered it down with a happy ending and cliche Disney cuteness and stupidity instead.  Very saddening.  (Also, here's another vid of the song that's a bit better quality and more complete:  link.)

That's pretty much it. As I see it, "Hunchback" was the first nearly-viable mutation that could have allowed Disney to evolve into serious and mature cartoons. They sure threw *that* baby down the well, huh. And look, shortly after that film they became the washed-up 3D animation peddlers they are today.

The dark and dramatic stuff is enough to make "Hunchback" one of my favourite Disney films, though, even though it is a flawed diamond. I wonder if anyone's made a phantom edit that cuts out those damn gargoyles...

EDIT: Thanks for the better link!

Hah! Awesome, from the way he controls it I'd guess they used a little caterpillar-track or something to build it on. Wow that's pretty speedy...

Speaking of good and interesting animation...

Here's a pretty nice fan-made trailer for The Greatest Animated Movie Never Made.

(For those interested in the whole sad story, it's here.)

I've never actually heard of this film (to my knowledge). I'm going to read your second link now...

EDIT: Now I miss this film.

Knowing how much Disney's Aladdin took from it don't help much, either.

Maybe someday it'll be completed.  To this day there are still rumors of everyone from Roy Disney to John Lasseter/Pixar wanting to finish & restore it.
