Very funny Looney Tunes episode:

What's Opera, Doc

EDIT: Oh, I've seen "Devil Eyes" now. I'm a bit surprised as to how comparatively non-gory and non-grotesque it was, compared to their previous stuff (not completely free of it, of course). But it's extremely cute and sad.

Ayreon, link stolen from lts. It's a load of well known metallers playing unusually listenerfriendly stuff - sort of live aid but with finnish trolls. i've been listening to it all week

Watch this before you make your next Powerpoint presentation. It's pretty much a lesson on the whole business.

Aphex Twin on classical guitar? You gotta be kidding!

And if you're wondering, yes, that's the tune from Salad Fingers. And it's repetitive as hell, but then again, that's ambient music!

How appropriate, since that Transformers Animated show is basically a cute, Disney-fied version of the franchise. *sigh* What happened to you, Transformers? You used to be cool.  Sad

It just looks like they've turned it (Transformers) into some silly, jokey farce. The characters all seem like comedic buffoons, barely like their original counterparts at all, and the animation style is just hideous: too cutesy and exaggerated. Why is animation these days worse than it was in 1984?

Look, I'm a purist. I grew up with G1 Transformers, and that counts the toys, the comics and the cartoon series. Sure, it wasn't a perfect cartoon, and had more than it's fair share of terrible episodes, but it at least kept things serious for the most part like it should have. I'm just sick of Hollywood  constantly refusing to stick to the source material and constantly changing everything at every turn lately. If "today's generation" don't want it for what it is, don't give it to them. Leave it in tact instead of bastardising it at every turn.

"Looks like?" "Seem?" You've never even watched it, have you? Yes, it's not perfect, but it kicks ass up and down. The only Transformers who truly count as "comedic buffoons" are Bumblebee and Bulkhead, and even they have their moments of greatness.

And on the animation? Dude, I've seen G1's animation. It is nothing to write home about.

Nope. I've seen enough clips though. I didn't need to actually *see* Catwoman to know it was an abomination, and the same applies here.

Also, when I mean animation, I meant the drawing style moreso than the animation itself. It's too cartoony and exaggerated. I immediately look at it and think it's some weird bastardisation of Teen Titans and that Dreamworks Robots movie. I could never take it seriously as an action cartoon show looking like that.

Finally, aside from colouring errors, for 1984 the original G1 cartoon was pretty damn ahead of its time. Particuarly the '86 movie. They at least also looked like actual robots that could change into their alt-forms instead of looking like weird angular football players with coloured plastic pieces attached to them.
