...well, I went ooh. Random site which is likely to be either utterly useless to you, or very useful indeed:

It's a free 2D -> 3D reconstruction service. Take a load of photos, upload them to the site, and they send you back a full 3D model, which can then apparently be transformed to a variety of common data formats (I've not tried it, so dunno how transferable/tweakable the output actually is). Might be useful for
  • Any artists here working on 3D stuff who want an eyecatching way of showing it to people remotely
  • Anyone meddling round with computer games who wants a cheap way of loading real objects, instead of having to build by hand models of everything
  • The very very bored
