They Might Be Giants video

Postby Molloy the Catburglar » Thu Apr 13, 2006 4:55 am

One of several new They Might be Giants music videos:

This wins not just for the song title, but also for the damn nifty 2D animation within.

Trace said he didn't see himself as an icon, but wanted to be a logo. Frank settled for being a font.

That is just too damn cool!  Who says 2D is dead?  Now it just needs to make its way back to the movie theaters!

Man, I love TMBG... ;D
If my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
And if I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat

Wow....I didn't know they were still going.  I remember "Birdhouse in Your Soul" from waaaaaay back - great song.  It is indeed a very cool video, I like the way there are bits of text and barcodes showing through in the background and there are some great expressions on the characters.
They could have done without the vocoder on the vocals IMO but that's a matter of taste.
Struck by the sounds before the sun,
I knew the night had gone,
The morning breeze like a bugle blew,
Against the drums of dawn.

Lay down your weary tune, lay down,
Lay down the song you strum,
And rest yourself 'neath the strength of strings,
No voice can hope to hum.
