So I wanted to draw some of the old Empirical characters, and now I've decided to do them all. Here is Lisa and Maggie's set. http://steve.simpworks.com/empiricallisagang.jpgIf you didn't take part in or know of the original Empirical RPG, don't even hope you'll understand this one

Like I said in chat it looks like you've researched the armour. It works really well. And the little comments are beautiful.

The Scots (originally Irish, but by now Scotch) were at this time inhabiting Ireland, having driven the Irish (Picts) out of Scotland; while the Picts (originally Scots) were now Irish (living in brackets) and vice versa. Continuing my review of your art: "no good" (the one with the four girls): I don't agree with your assessment. The eye design bothered me a bit when I first saw this, but it isn't so scary on second or third view, and the expressions and poses are very nice and varied. I think Jessica's breasts look a bit big though (too high, perhaps). Halp: I like Bart-chan on this: it feels like Bart, despite the body. Her hair is nice. Mara is creepy. Probably intentional, but still. Her hair looks more Groening style than manga, to me. (Not that I object, and since I haven't looked at that much manga and animé, I'm probably wrong.) Lisa and Allison: nice work on their bodies here. Allison reminds me a bit of Miss Deep from Read Or Die. I'm getting more comfortable with the eyes, too. Generally good work. Swimsuit Allison: not much to say about this one. Glad you're not making her too curvy. Paladin: you can probably recall me being impressed by this. Nice pose, loads of detail on the armour (always great!), and the colouring is very good. Brawler: I love it when people draw catgirls who actually look beastlike, rather than like Lolitas with fake ears. Realistic tail, and I love her fang and nice sturdy cat legs. The necklace of fangs is a pretty touch. Also nice to see a picture of a bare-chested woman that can be G-rated due to fur. Generally, one of the nicest catgirl pictures I've seen. Archer: unusual pose, and to my untutored eyes, it works. She looks nicely un-fae, as Beb would say. I can't think of anything I don't like about this picture. Nice hair (you can tell it's Jessica), truly impressive wings, and her clothes look very good. Stopping for now.

And on: Bad Bart: I see what you mean, Bart's face looks a bit off and his head is too small. The rest of his body proportions seem good, though. (Yes, I'd use the big covering robe all the time if I were to draw anything.) Allison generally looks good, and her blush is cute. Her legs are a bit long, of course. Very nice detail on her outfit, and her hands look good to me. (I also like her dreamcatcher-like staff.) Dad and Me: I like this one! I can see you're making headway on Homer: his body seems a bit odd, and the head might be too small, but his face is great. Catboy!Bart is adorable. (We need more catboys!) I particularly like his tail and his excellently realistic-looking back paws. Good expression, too. Lisa is adorable as well. That fanged mouth just screams "cute", IMO. Good job on her dress and paws. Mom and Dad: probably my favourite of your pictures. Your design of Devil!Jessica is nothing short of great. (Her left hand looks very basic, though.) Tail, bat wings, fangs: all awesome. Great expression, very funny dialogue. Tim and Helen are well designed as well, you can recognise them. Centaur and Devil: funny expressions! I have nothing to argue with here. More Devil!Jessica is always great, and you draw a very realistic centaur. (For a given value of realistic...) Simpmoon scene: I like Lisa's expression here, angry and no-nonsense. The background looks fairly enchanting, and realistic-looking flowy ribbons. More to come, of course.

Quick comment between reviews: regarding a plot for a fanfic, you could always use the fantasy-critter versions of the characters in that fantasy virtual reality fic you talked to us about at the last meet-up (that sounded awesome, BTW). That's the best I could think of.

Thanks for all your reviews Chris, really appreciated. ATM I'm kinda shying away from putting the kids in a fantasy setting. Too much like Cornwood for comfort. Centaur Allison! Centaur allison! I had no idea this was so... popular?

Nah, not really, just that it'd mean you were drawing something. And forget cornwood, just because someone else did something that's a bit similar doesn't mean you have to stop doing your thing.

Aww come on, Steve, it's not like the "fantasy virtual reality" trope had never been done before Cornwood. Besides, I don't think your idea was similar enough to get called a ripoff even by the nitpickiest fanboys. But if you want to give it a rest until all the Cornwood hullabaloo has died down, sure.
Oh, and for the record, I like Centaur Allison. It's a cool character design.
